Dream Shades are a vertical sheer — soft fabric vanes held between two layers of sheer fabric that hang from a track at the top. Tilt the vanes to glide from an open, glowing view to closed privacy, or draw them to one side so they gently separate and let you walk straight through. It’s the elegance of a vertical drape with the easy function of a shade.

That combination makes Dream Shades a beautiful answer for large windows and sliding patio doors, where they soften the light, cut glare, and add a refined, drapery-like layer — without the bulk of curtains. Dream Shades are a vertical sheer — soft fabric vanes suspended between two layers of sheer fabric that hang from a top track. Are Dream Shades good for sliding patio doors?

Yes — they’re a beautiful fit. Because the vanes separate and draw to one side, you can walk straight through a patio door without fighting the shade, then traverse them back across for a soft, full-width sheer. They’re equally at home on large windows and walls of glass.

How private are Dream Shades, especially at night?

With the vanes tilted closed they give good daytime privacy while keeping the room bright. Like all sheers, they stay semi-transparent at night when interior lights are on, so for bedrooms we suggest pairing them with a blackout layer or choosing a more opaque vane. We’ll show you how each fabric behaves in your room’s light.

Can Dream Shades be motorized?

Yes. Dream Shades come with a smooth manual wand, or you can add motorization to tilt and traverse them by remote, app, or voice through Apple HomeKit, Google Home, and Amazon Alexa — especially convenient on wide patio doors and tall windows.
